WE ARE FTA
The Framingham Teachers Association is the professional organization of classroom teachers, specialized teaching personnel, school counselors, department chairpersons, nurses, secretaries, assistant teachers and aides who work in the Framingham Public Schools. The Association is the exclusive representative for the purpose of collective bargaining with respect to wages, hours and other conditions of employment for all professional employees employed by the School Committee. The goal of the Association is to provide education of the highest possible quality for the young people attending the Framingham Public Schools.The Framingham Teachers Association is a member-driven organization, governed by democratic principles, that accepts and supports the interdependence of professionals and unionism. The FTA promotes the use of its members’ collective powers to advance their professional and economic interests. The FTA is committed to human and civil rights and advocates for quality public education in an environment in which lifelong learning and innovation flourish.
The FTA Executive Board meets twice a month to discuss what is going on in the district. This board consists of the elected positions and the committee chairs.
